Andrew "Andy" McGee is a character in the 1984 film Firestarter. He also appears in a flashback by Aaron Radl in Firestarter 2: Rekindled. He will appear in the upcoming 2021 remake of the adaptation by Zac Efron.
Biography[]
He participated in the Lot Six experiment, in which several test subjects died. There, during the experiment, they both gained psychokinetic powers and realized he was in love with Vicky Tomlinson like she was in love with him. They both married and had a daughter. Her name is Charlie McGee. Realizing she had extreme pyrokinetic powers, he focused on teaching her self control. He himself had developed psychic powers thanks to the experiment, especially mental domination.
When Vicky was murdered by government agents in an attempt to kidnap Charlie as part of a plan to make weapons like her, he saved her in the nick of time. After that they both fled from the government, but were kidnapped by them later and subjected to experiments.
He mimicked he could no longer do his abilities as part of a plan to flee. He was able to reach Charlie, but was killed by Rainbird. Charlie avenged his death by killing Rainbird and destroying the government institute.
Firestarter 2[]
He was portrayed in flashbacks by Aaron Radl in Firestarter 2.
Firestarter Remake[]
He will be portrayed by Zac Efron in the upcoming Firestarter remake.
