Daniel Jacob Radcliffe (born July 23, 1989) is an English actor and producer. He's best known as the titular character in the Harry Potter film series.
Early Life[]
Dan was born to Alan Radcliffe and Marcia Gresham at Queen Charlotte and Chelsea's Hospital. His father was a well-known literacy agent, and his mother was a casting agent. His parents had stage acted as children. At the young age of 5, he wanted to make acting a full-time career. After an audition scheduled by one of his mother's friends, also a casting agent, which led him to star in the 1999 version of Charles Dickens's book, David Copperfield, playing the role of Young David, being televised on the BBC. Then, in 2001, he made his on-screen cinema debut, playing Mark Pendel in The Tailor of Panama.
Rise to Fame[]
In 2000, Radcliffe met producer David Heyman while at a theatre with his father and asje. However, Radcliffe's parents did not want him to audition since that would cause of a disruption that would be to his life. Chris Columbus, who would later direct him in the first two installments of the movies recalled him in David Copperfield and said, "This is what I want. This is Harry Potter". After several auditions and eight months later, Radcliffe got the role. His parents initially turned it down at first as it would be involving filming of 6 films in Los Angeles and Warner Bros offered the young actor a two-movie contract in the UK and it was unsure that he would do any more pictures. Radcliffe portrayed Potter for 8 films, ending in 2011 with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

Dan and his longtime partner, Michigan-born actress Erin Darke are parents to a son, born in April of 2023.
He publicly revealed in August of 2008 that he has DCD or Dyspraxia.
He learned bass guitar from co-star Gary Oldman. One of his favorite bands The Pixies, and met Robert Downey Jr.
