The Creep is a character in the Creepshow films and TV series, who acts as a host for the horror tales therein. He resembles a decomposed corpse, and laughs. In Creepshow 2, he was played by Tom Savini, while his voice was provided by the late Joe Silver. In Creepshow 3, he was played by Greg McDougall.
Personality[]
The personality of the Creep is limited in the first movie, given his lack of dialogue, but his actions show that he his malevolent in revels in the horrific misfortunes of others. In the first movie, he is shown to have some sympathy for Billy, a child with an abusive father. However, the Creep may have been more interested in the agonizing fate of the father than helping Billy. The Creep helps Billy get revenge with a voodoo doll (which he orders from the actual Creepshow comic book), an instrument that causes the father torturous pain as seen in the movie's ending.
The Creep's personality in the second movie is slightly different, given that he now has dialogue. He plays a role closer to simply being a creepy delivery man, as he acts and looks more human instead of being a silent grim reaper-like presence. Similar to the first movie, it's heavily implied that he enjoys the horrific fates of others, given his enthusiasm for presenting the segments of the movie, all of which are tragic stories.
The Creep in the 2019 TV show reverts back to how he was in the first movie, since the show continues off the first movie and ignores the other two. The Creep is shown to be much more active and malicious in this version of Creepshow, as he is seen actually killing and dismembering others between segments. The Creep in Creepshow 3 also shares this behavior.
Appearances[]
The Creep takes on many different forms through the course of the three films he appears in, as well as the television show appearing on Shudder.
In the first Creepshow film, the Creep manifests as a robed and hooded skeletal figure with long white hair. He is filmed using both practical effects and animation.
In the second Creepshow film, the Creep manifests as a jumpsuited mailman, still bearing garish features and appearing more monstrous than in the first. He speaks in the second installment, taking on a more narrative role. He wears both a green jumpsuit and cap, and grey and red cloak, and appears both in real life and as an animated character.
In the third Creepshow film, the Creep manifests as a hot dog vendor who kills a dog named Fudgie, then takes the body to his house and slices it up into hot dog pieces so he can sell them to people. By the end of the film, he resembles the version from the second film.
In the Creepshow TV series, the Creep appears much similar to his appearance in the first film, that of a cloaked and decaying figure who only laughs, never speaks.

Creepshow[]
He is a skeletonized wizard who appears at the window of a young boy named Billy (portrayed by Joe Hill, Stephen King's son) beckoning him to come closer and presents five tales of horror from the Creepshow comic book.
At the end of the film, Billy's abusive father Stan (portrayed by Tom Atkins) who just throws away Billy's Creepshow comic book at the beginning of the film, complains about a stiff neck which escalates as Billy repeatedly jabs a voodoo doll he ordered from the Creepshow comic book. The image of Billy jabbing the voodoo doll appears on the second issue of Creepshow which is held by the Creep.
Although the Creep only laughs and cackles, his lines of dialect are only seen on the pages before the start of each tale.
Creepshow 2[]
The Creepshow Creep returns for the second installment and is also the host and one of the main antagonists in the film Creepshow 2.
Unlike the previous Creepshow Creep, the second Creep is fully fleshed and talks as the original Creepshow Creep only cackles.
At the beginning of Creepshow 2, a delivery truck pulls up to a newsstand in a small town where a young boy named Billy (named after and confused with the boy from Creepshow) arrives, eagerly waiting for it. The truck's back shutter opens to reveal a sinister figure who drops off a package on the sidewalk: the latest issue of Creepshow, much to Billy's delight. As the package opens on its own accord, Billy begins to read as the delivery man reveals his true identity as the Creepshow Creep.
The Creep presents three tales of horror and watches Billy lure some neighborhood bullies into a vacant lot as Giant Venus Flytraps emerge from the ground and devour the bullies one by one. The spectacle is witnessed by the Creep himself who cackles in glee as he drives off in his delivery truck to deliver the latest issue of Creepshow to another town.
Creepshow 3[]
The Creepshow Creep returns for the third installment, this time as a hot dog vendor who sells hot dogs to people everywhere.
At the beginning of Creepshow 3, the Creep encounters a playful little dog named Fudgie. The Creep kills the dog, then takes the body to his house where he slices it up into little pieces so that he can make delicious hot dogs out of them.
While the Creep is busy selling hot dogs to people, he presents five tales of horror.
At the end of the film, the Creep reveals himself to the audience, laughing and cackling with glee.
