House IV is a 1992 horror comedy sequel film. It marks the return of William Katt as the writer, Roger Cobb. Although what remains unclear, is if this sequel is truly connected to the first movie, as he is seen with a different family. It is also known as House 4: The Possession.

Plot[]

Roger Cobb (William Katt) is killed in a car accident who has left his daughter Laurel in a wheelchair. His family Kelly Cobb andLaurel, must move into the house that has haunted Roger for several years. Soon the family begins to experience scary and unexplained phenomena while a mysterious woman appears to help them.

In the meantime they have to deal with the pressures of selling the Cobb home to a mysterious group. Burke, Roger Cobb´s stepbrother defends their interests and wants her to sell the house to them. After Kelly consults with a native American spiritual guide, she learns that the spirit of Roger and some Indians have been trying to warn Kelly that Roger’s tragic car accident was in fact cold-blooded murder commited by Burke so that he wouldn´t stand in his way of getting this house for that group who belong to the Mafia so so that it can be used for the illegal dumping of toxic waste.

Kelly breaks with Burke and he, in retaliation, tries to kill her and her daughter by putting the house on fire in the hopes of still getting that place after their deaths. Roger, as a spirit, intervenes to save them while the firemen come quickly to their aid and through an illusion Roger makes Burke confess inadvertently his crimes to other people.

It turns out the mysterious woman was working for the FBI who were well aware of what was going on and sent her to catch Burke and protect the family. She intervened to send the firemen to the house in the nick of time and as such had heard the confession with other law enforcement personnell who then arrest Burke and take him away.

After that Roger and Kelly say goodbye o each other before he goes away while their daughter has recovered from the car accident through this second traumatic event by being able to walk again.
