Invasion of the Body Snatchers is a 1978 American science fiction, horror film directed by Philip Kaufmand, and starring Donald Sutherland, Brooke Adams,Veronica Cartwright, Jeeff Goldblum and Leonard Nimoy. It was released on December 22, 1978 and it is a remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) which is based on the novel The Body Snatchers by Jack Finney.

Plot Edit

A San Francisco health inspector and his colleague who discover that humans are being replaced by alien duplicates and each is a perfect copy of the person replaced only devoid of human emotion.

It turns out these creatures are space aliens who have arrived on Earth through cosmic winds and intend to conquer it by assimilating humans nearby while they are sleeping. Now, together with others, they must fight to survive and stop the invasion, which is becoming stronger and stronger all the time.

However, in time they become less and less while they take more and more of the city because of the fastness in their actions. Even mimicking them doesn´t work in the long run. Finally only one remains. That one believes another one is also human only to discover the wrongness in that assumption.

Reception Edit

The movie was a box office success. It has also been named as one of the greatest film remakes and one of the greatest science fiction horror remakes ever made among several publications.
