Joe Dante (born November 28, 1946) is a American director who specializes in comedic horror. Dante is a former protégé of cult movie director Roger Corman. He even cast Corman in a cameo role in his 1981 werewolf film, The Howling. Dante has made cameo appearances himself in a few of his films and has directed two episodes of the "Masters of Horror" television series.
