He is the first actor to play the role of Jason more than once and is very dedicated to the character; many fans consider him the best because of this.

He was originally going to portray Jason in the film Freddy vs. Jason the role and it was given to Canadian stuntman Ken Kirzinger.

Hodder was claims they never gave him a reason for his replacement. Ronny Yu stated Freddy vs. Jason stated he the Kirzinger was chosen in part do to his height, as they wanted an Actor who towered over Robert Englund as well as having a slower more diliberate Jason, as opposed to the aggressive movements Hodder is known for brining to the role.
