She was recruited together with the others to find out what happened to the Event Horizon after it suddenly appeared on orbit near Neptune.
She is one of the two, who survived the event after her Captain Miller sacrifices his life in order to stop the ship and his minion, who wanted to send them into a dimension of pure chaos (hell). She becomes very traumatized because of it, when she returns to Earth with the other survivor Cooper and has to be restrained because of it.
