In Scream 3 (2000), Mark finally meets the reclusive Sidney after she comes out of hiding to face the new killer head-on. She is attacked by Ghostface in the set version of her house, 34 Elm but Mark is initially skeptical due to her fragile state recalling her mother.

Later, after they speak at the police station, he appears entranced by her, and also sees that what she saw was real. Sidney is skeptical of him, as he is shown to be a big movie fan. But after he is stabbed trying to save her life in the climax, they become close, and by the epilogue, appear to be dating.
