The Paranormal Activity franchise is a series of found-footage horror films. The films follow the haunting of various families by a demonic presence. Later installments brought in the addition of an all-female cult that worships the demon. The demon usually focuses on one person in the family that it haunts and possesses that individual to make them kill everyone else in the house before being taken away by the cult. Each subsequent film answers questions that arose from the previous ones. They all form connections that create a bigger picture that has yet to be completely revealed.
Series writer, producer, and director Christopher B. Landon has stated that an end-game for the series has already been planned and that it would take only a few more films to wrap up the Paranormal Activity storyline.

The Marked Ones[]
This film was produced in between Paranormal Activity 4 and Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension. It focuses on a Latin American family that accidently brings the demon into their home. The demon possesses the older son, Jesse, and transforms him into a monster. He is then kidnapped by the witch coven.
The ending of the film expands upon the ending of the first film, showing exactly how Micah was killed and why Katie screamed. Hector is teleported through time from the witch coven to Katie and Micah's home. He watches the possessed Katie walk down the stairs and enter the kitchen. When he tries to speak to her, the possession is momentarily broken and Katie screams for Micah, who runs downstairs to check on her. The demon immediately takes over Katie again and kills Micah. Hector then runs back into the living room where the demonized Jesse emerges from the portal and attacks him. The footage then stops and the credits begin to role.
