Originally the film ended in a grand wrestling battle between the Scorpion and a malfunctioning robot. However Moctezuma's plan backfired, the movie was a failure, and Scorpion and Lisa were married. Scorpion VS Montezuma II: The Battle for Love[]

ScorpionVSMontezuma

It is rumored that the Scorpion and director Moctezuma had a life long rivalry, and that the Scorpion continued to undermine Moctezuma's career as a filmmaker. We now know that in 1977 this rivalry came to a head and Moctezuma (as wrestling character, Emperor Montezuma II) challenged the Scorpion in the ring at the arena in Mexico City. Moctezuma had no wrestling experience, but the Scorpion had a regular show at the arena where he'd welcome any amateur challenger. If the challenge could just knock him down the challenge could have dinner with his wife, Lisa. We can only assume this was Moctezuma's incentive. However the match ended in a terrible accident for Lisa. This infamous match caused a call for wrestling promoters everywhere to instigate new safety standards instead of the "lawless" matches that were common in the day.
