The Golem (also known as The Golem: How He Came Into the World. German: Der Golem, wie er in die Welt kam) is a 1920 silent horror film directed and starring Paul Weneger. It is an icon of German expressionism.

Plot

In 16th-century Prague, the stars indicate an oncoming disaster. A rabbi uses sorcery and magic to create a golem to protect the Jews from this oncoming disaster.
