In order to cash in on the success of Svengali, Warner Bros. decided to release a similar themed film, The Mad Genius , which featured both John Barrymore and Marian Marsh who starred in the original film. Based upon the stage play The Idol by Martin Brown.
Plot[]
A crippled man takes in an abused orphan boy and transforms him into a great dancer. Years later, trouble arises when they fall for the same woman.
