Woman in Cottage is a character in Harry Bromley Davenport's 1982 science fiction horror film Xtro. She is played by Susie Silvey.
Biography[]
She first appears after the alien that landed to Earth sees her through the kitchen window as she casually dries her blonde hair with a towel, throwing it onto a chair after she's done. Her dog Divine comes into the kitchen whining, and after asking what's the matter, she assumes Divine is hungry, so she puts some ground meat into a bowl and offers it to Divine. However, to her confusion, Divine refuses the meal and lies down under a table.
As the woman wonders about her dog's behavior, she suddenly hears a clatter outside, as if someone tipped over a garbage can. Concerned, she opens her front door, demanding to know who's there. Divine rushes outside barking, prompting the woman to call her dog to go back inside, who then does. As she locks the door, she orders Divine to be quiet, before going back and also locking the back door.
The woman then goes into the living room and turns off the light, the fireplace being the only source of light now. She carefully goes to the window and peers through the curtains outside, hoping to spot the intruder. Unable to see anyone, she decides to go and pull out a shotgun, loading it with a shell. As she slowly makes her way through the room, an arm suddenly reaches from beneath a table and trips her, causing her to fall down with a scream as her shotgun goes off. She immediately turns towards the attacker, only to scream upon seeing him: a grotesque alien creature.
With screams, the woman desperately tries to wriggle free from its grasp, as it holds her by her legs and a tube-like organ emerges from its body beneath its neck. Realizing what it possibly wants to do to her, she tries to slap the alien, only for her hand to be caught in its mouth as she screams. The alien bites her hand, and she passes out as her body goes limp, allowing the alien to connect its tube-like organ to her mouth and beginning to pump something into her, growling during the process.
Sometime later the next morning, the woman wakes up with a stained face around her mouth, traumatized and groaning with discomfort. As she slowly gets up, she finds the remains of the alien, being eaten by Divine. She staggers into the kitchen, disconnects the shower head and shakily pours herself a glass of water. As soon as she takes a sip, a sudden sharp noise erupts from her stomach, causing her to drop the glass and pull a dish rack off the counter onto the floor with a crash as she stumbles against the table with a groan, grabbing her stomach with both of her hands. Soon, the noise begins again as her stomach begins to swell, causing her to groan and stagger towards the counter. She begins to move alongside it towards the back door for help. As she reaches the stove at the end, her belly surges even more, causing her to lurch back with a yell as she grabs it with her hand. Using her belly's weight, she runs and collides against the door, trying to open it. However, a coat gets in her way as she grapples with it until, unable to handle the growing weight of her belly, she pushes off the door and falls to the floor onto her back with a thud as it surges again, causing her arm to tremble. Feeling something moving inside, her gasps subside as she smiles.
She then screams as she goes into labor, with blood and organs pouring out of her vagina. At that moment, her body goes limp as she dies, while the alien begins to come out of her, revealing to be Sam Phillips. While being halfway out of her, he bites through the umbilical cord, and is later shown showering from the woman's kitchen shower head.
